ÜBER UNS
Mit dem einfachen Ziel, die Liebe zur Töpferei weiterzugeben, haben wir Cretan Spiral Pottery gegründet, ein kleines lokales Unternehmen, das aus unserer Leidenschaft für Ton entstanden ist. Unser Studio liegt auf der Olivenfarm unserer Familie, direkt am Meer im Osten Kretas. Es ist ein Ort, an dem Tradition, Kreativität und tägliche Arbeit zusammenkommen.
Im Jahr 2005 wurde ich hier zum ersten Mal von einem Keramiker aus einer Töpferfamilie in dritter Generation in die Töpferei eingeführt. Ich lernte auf die traditionelle Art Kretas, an der Töpferscheibe mit seitlichem Schwungrad. Diese frühe Grundlage prägt meine Arbeit bis heute, auch wenn sich meine eigene Art zu arbeiten durch viele Jahre täglicher Praxis und Produktion weiterentwickelt hat.
Seit 2010 ist die Töpferei Teil meines Arbeitslebens auf der Farm. Im Laufe der Jahre habe ich an diesem Ort Tausenden von Menschen das Handwerk nähergebracht. Für mich ging es bei der Töpferei nie nur ums Herstellen und Verkaufen. Es ging immer auch darum, den Prozess, das Wissen und die Freude am Arbeiten mit Ton zu teilen.
Heute umfasst unser Studio einen Produktionsbereich, einen Laden und Keramikworkshops. Gemeinsam mit meinem Team stellen wir funktionale Einzelstücke in einem echten, aktiven Keramikstudio her.
